Summer smiles

Happy feet

Finally getting a taste of some real summer here! The past couple of days have been incredibly hot and humid but we finally got some great sunshine and I’m not going to complain. Spent the day sitting in the backyard doing a Q&A with my boyfriend and learning more about each other. We got this Q&A a Day book that asks you one question a day for a year for the next 5 years so we decided to go through all the questions from January up until today and write both our answers down. Took a moment to doodle on his foot as he was recording our answers 🙂 Love every chance I get to learn more about my best friend and soak up the summer sun.

A recent trip to the Toronto Underground Market had my taste buds dancing. Saucy Pierogi was a particularly delicious adventure!

Our special place

Our special place

One of the best gifts life can give you is a best friend and a soul mate. I was lucky enough to meet mine 7 years ago and to this day I still get butterflies. He is incredible and is the most amazing, inspirational person who motivates, challenges, and loves me. This photo was taken at Cherry Beach in Toronto. A place where we found ourselves after stressful days at work and we decided to dip our feet in the water, cuddle up, and name all our stresses as we threw rocks into the water, letting the waves wash them away. Yes, we are dorks. But hey, it helped! The best thing about being with the right person is that you can truly be yourself and they love you anyway.

Today is his birthday. Today is a day to celebrate life giving me this person. Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my special guy.

A Walk Through Cheung Chau

A Walk Through Cheung Chau

A Walk Through Cheung Chau

This is the photograph that inspired me to create this blog.

Originally born in Hong Kong, I moved to Canada at age 5 in ’97 with my family. I was recently in Hong Kong for my third time. I forgot my camera and all I had was my HTC Amaze mobile phone. I took the ferry to visit Cheung Chau Island and was amazed (as I always seem to be when I’m in Hong Kong) by the combination of old buildings and temples and modern development – a McDonalds right beside the pier, a shiny HSBC bank across from a street vendor selling dried fish, eel, and shrimp. I always seem to feel like a foreigner in the country where I was born.
